Angus Lourey Commits to Whitworth University's Basketball Program
Angus Lourey Heads to Whitworth University
Angus Lourey, an Australian basketball player known for his impressive performance at Butte College, is set to join Whitworth University for the upcoming season. After spending two years honing his skills at Butte, where he played in 29 games during his sophomore year, Angus will now take his talents to the NCAA Division III level in the Northwest Conference.

Angus' growth at Butte College was significant. In his sophomore year, he proved his mettle by starting every game, hitting crucial shots with a 30% success rate from beyond the arc and averaging nine points per game. This was a substantial leap from his freshman year when he did not start any games but participated in 14.
Whitworth University's Winning Tradition
Whitworth University, under the guidance of head coach Damion Jablonski, has maintained a strong presence in NCAA Division III basketball. Jablonski, in his seventh year leading the men's program, boasts a commendable record of success. The team consistently performs well, claiming ten Northwest Conference (NWC) regular-season titles and equally as many tournament crowns during his tenure. Last season, Whitworth secured another regular-season championship and made it to the NCAA Division III tournament, illustrating the program's competitive edge.
Angus steps into a robust program with a focus on teamwork and a proven track record. His addition to the Whitworth Pirates is anticipated to further strengthen their lineup.
A Community of Support
Angus' journey has been shaped by a wide community, including his time at AUSA Hoops, where he prepared for the next steps in his basketball career. As Angus embarks on his new challenge at Whitworth, the basketball community, including his peers and coaches, looks forward to seeing his continued development on and off the court.
