Brad's journey in basketball began with the Illawarra Hawks junior club, where he stood out as a 6'7" versatile wing forward at an early age. His ability to shoot, play off the bounce, and his strong physical presence helped him transition smoothly into significant roles such as small forward and power forward. His hard work and talent earned him a spot in the under-20 New South Wales men's team for the 2024 Nationals. Brad also showcased his talents as a part of the Zilla Warhawks' championship-winning NBL1 team, where he was named a development player.

In his freshman year at Eastern Arizona College, Brad played 31 games and averaged 8.3 points, shooting 41.6% from the field, 37.7% from three-point range, and 77.3% from the free throw line. After exploring several NCAA Division II interests during the off-season, Brad remained focused on finding a Division I opportunity, leading him to join New Haven University.

New Haven University Men's Basketball Program

The New Haven Chargers men's basketball team is currently undergoing a transition to NCAA Division I, having joined the Northeast Conference in 2025. The team is led by head coach Ted Hotaling, who has been at the helm since 2010 and is celebrated for leading the program to its first NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance in 2023. Under his leadership, the Chargers have secured multiple 20-win seasons.

In the recent seasons, New Haven showed potential with their fluctuating win-loss records, including a 23–11 finish in the 2022–23 season. Despite challenges, they made a notable impact in the NE10 Conference and are now looking ahead in their Division I trajectory.

AUSA Hoops takes pride in having been part of Brad Ballinger's journey towards this milestone, grateful to support him as he steps into this exciting phase of his basketball career. New Haven University is gaining a player known for his shooting skills and adaptability on the court, and we are excited to see him continue to grow and succeed.
