From his early days with the Southwest Slammers in Eaton, WA, through his involvement in the WA country state teams, Cooper developed a knack for delivering sharp, three-point shooting and spreading the floor. With a freshman season average of 6.5 points per game and a 31 percent success rate from beyond the arc, Cooper demonstrated his potential to disrupt opponent defenses with quick scoring bursts.

Opportunity Awaits at Umpqua

Umpqua Community College, competing at the NJCAA Division I level, is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC). Under head coach Daniel Leeworthy, who has led since the 2020-21 season, the program has cultivated a reputation for team-first, disciplined play with an emphasis on efficient shooting.

Leeworthy has significantly transformed the team, starting with a challenging 6-20 first season and building up to consistent 20-win seasons. The team's recent achievements include winning the NWAC South Region in the 2025-26 season with a 13-3 conference record, marking their advance to the NWAC basketball championship tournament.

AUSA Hoops and Community Support

As part of his basketball journey, Cooper benefited from the support of many, including programs like AUSA Hoops, which played a role in his pathway to college basketball. With a focus on fostering talent and providing opportunities for Australian players, AUSA Hoops is proud to be a part of this wider basketball community.

As Cooper heads to Umpqua Community College, he looks forward to making a greater impact on the floor during his sophomore year, continuing to hone his skills and contribute to his new team's success.
