Jessie Whinwray's Commitment to Next Level

Jessie Whinwray has committed to Utah State University Eastern's women's basketball team. Having developed her skills through a broad spectrum of basketball experiences, Jessie now takes her talents to the NJCAA program, which competes in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.

Starting her journey in Southeast Queensland, Jessie showcased her potential by representing the New Zealand junior tall ferns at the FIBA Under-18 Oceania tournament in 2025. Her talent and dedication propelled her to Arizona Western College, where she spent her freshman year further honing her skills.

A pivotal part of the North Gold Coast Seahawks junior representative program, Jessie has also proven her abilities at the NBL1 level, contributing significantly to her teams' successes.

A Promising Path at Utah State University Eastern

Utah State University Eastern's women's basketball program, led by Head Coach Chelsey Warburton since 2015, competes passionately in the NJCAA's Scenic West Athletic Conference. With a strong overall record of 20–11 in the 2025–26 season, the team emerged as a competitive force, entering their postseason tournament as the No. 2 seed. Although they were eliminated in the Region 18 championship, they have markedly improved and are recognized for their competitiveness.

Jessie's commitment to this program offers her a fresh start and the platform to aim for NCAA Division I opportunities. The support of her community, coaches, family, and programs like AUSA Hoops has played an integral role in her growth and readiness for this transition.
