Luka Cuda, a 6'8 Australian basketball talent, has committed to join the men's basketball program at Fort Hays State University. This announcement marks a significant step in Luka's journey, as he brings a wealth of experience and skill gained from years of dedication in the Australian basketball scene.

Luka's basketball roots began in Brisbane, where he honed his skills before moving with his family to Illawarra. There, under the guidance of the Illawarra Hawks feeder program within the NBL1, he elevated his game to impressive heights. His tenure with the NSW U20 men's side at the 2024 Nationals showcased his talents before he toured with AUSA Hoops in June 2025, playing key roles in Richmond and Bryan, Texas.

Known for his size and versatility, Luka has proven to be a dynamic player on both ends of the floor. His quickness and touch around the basket, coupled with an ability to extend his play to the perimeter, make him a challenging match-up for opponents. His defensive skills are equally strong, characterized by his ability to challenge shots and succeed against bigger opposition.

Fort Hays State University Men's Basketball Program

Luka joins Fort Hays State University's Tigers, a revered NCAA Division II team that competes in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). The program is led by head coach Mark Johnson, who is entering his 25th season. Under his guidance, the program has achieved numerous successes, including 13 seasons with 20 or more wins and four conference championships.

The Tigers are renowned for their defensive prowess, leading the nation in scoring defense in recent seasons. With nine NCAA Tournament appearances, including a return to the tournament in the past two seasons, Fort Hays State offers a robust platform for Luka to further develop his game.
