Matthew Flinders Commits to Central Community College
Matthew Flinders, a promising guard from Australia, has taken the next step in his basketball career by committing to Central Community College. A member of the class of 2026, Matthew's dedication and skill caught the eye of CCC Coach Tyler Francis during his time with AUSA Hoops tours. His defensive communication and offensive improvement stood out, making him a strong addition to the Raiders' roster.

AUSA Hoops: A Pathway to Success
Matthew's development has been supported by a broad basketball community, including junior clubs, schools, and family, culminating in his participation in AUSA Hoops. His father, Martin Flinders, highlights the value of AUSA's structure, saying, "The AUSA framework has provided an excellent pathway for Matt as he progresses his goal of playing US college basketball and beyond."
From his initial AUSA tour three years ago to his recent tour in May, Matthew has gained exposure to the high standards of US college basketball. His playmaking skills and ability to finish through contact have improved significantly, attributes that align well with CCC's ambitious program.
Central Community College Men's Basketball
Central Community College's men's basketball team competes in NJCAA Division II within the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Region 11. Under the guidance of head coach Tyler Francis, who is in his second season, the team reached the Region 9 title game in 2023-24. Matthew joins a program with a history of success, including previous national tournament appearances.
Coach Francis' experience and the Raiders' connection with Australian talent make CCC an excellent fit for Matthew as he aims to develop further. As Matthew steps into his new role at CCC, he becomes part of a program where his talent is recognized and further honed.
