Noah Suarjaya Heads to Oklahoma City University
Noah Suarjaya, an Australian basketball talent, proudly commits to Oklahoma City University for the upcoming men's basketball season. This transition aligns him once again with his former head coach, Tim Moser.
Noah's basketball path started in Melbourne with the Dandenong Rangers and Rowville College. He honed his skills further with AUSA Hoops, earning the opportunity to play with UT Tyler in Division II. During his freshman season, he showcased his burgeoning skills, appearing in 22 games, starting in 9, and averaging 17 minutes per game. His contribution of 112 points, an average of 5.1 points per game, and his 70.6% success rate from the free-throw line highlighted his potential on the court.
His next challenge is to help the Oklahoma City University Stars rebuild. Noah joins the OCU men's basketball team with a clear objective under the guidance of a new coach.
Oklahoma City University Basketball Program
The Oklahoma City University men's basketball team, known as the Stars, competes in the NAIA and is part of the Sooner Athletic Conference. For the 2025-26 season, Sam Kohnke leads the program in his first year as head coach. Kohnke arrives with a strong coaching record from Central Baptist College, where he compiled a 91-38 record and won titles, including the 2023-24 AMC Coach of the Year.
OCU saw a challenging 2024-25 season, finishing with a 10-18 overall record and 6-18 in conference play. However, they secured a significant victory by winning the 2026 Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament Championship, their 10th title. Historically, OCU has won six NAIA national championships, signalling a rich tradition of success in men's basketball. With home games at the Abe Lemons Arena, Noah steps into a program eager to return to its former glory.
Noah's journey from Australia to the U.S. reflects the collective support of clubs, schools, and programs, including AUSA Hoops. With this commitment to Oklahoma City University, Noah steps into a new chapter, contributing to a team with a storied past and promising future.
