Seliano Melekiola Commits to USC Salkehatchie

Seliano Melekiola, known affectionately as Selly, has committed to play for the USC Salkehatchie men's basketball team. Selly's journey to this milestone includes significant contributions at his junior club, Canberra Gunners, and excellent performances for the under-20 ACT team in the 2026 Nationals. He showcased his talent on an AUSA Hoops tour in July 2025, impressing against teams like NXT Pro and Pro 16 with his dynamic playmaking skills.

Coach Matt Lynch of USC Salkehatchie expressed his enthusiasm for the new recruit, saying, “We are excited to welcome Seliano to USC Salkehatchie. From the moment we began recruiting him, it was clear that he possesses the toughness, work ethic, and competitive spirit that fit our culture. He is a skilled guard who can really stretch the floor, but what impressed us most was his character and his desire to continue developing his game.”

USC Salkehatchie Men's Basketball

USC Salkehatchie's men's basketball team competes in the NJCAA Division I, part of Region 10. Under the guidance of Coach Matt Lynch, who joined as head coach in January 2023, the team has shown remarkable progress. In the first season, they achieved a 20–14 record and won the Region 10 Tournament. The team has continued their success with a 24–8 finish in the 2025–26 season. Known for their high-powered offense, USC Salkehatchie scored over 100 points in 20 games during that season.

Selly's addition is expected to enhance their offensive strategy, leveraging his flair and high-energy play on both ends of the court. As he embarks on this exciting path at USC Salkehatchie, he carries the support of his junior clubs, family, and the AUSA Hoops community, ready to make his mark in college basketball.
