Structure of an AUSA Tour

How an AUSA Hoops AAU tour is actually run, the practice load, the academic time, the games, the travel, and what your child's day looks like.

This has been a life-changing experience that will propel each of the girls forward in their respective journeys throughout life. Apart from the myriad of positives they will all take away from such a great tournament and experience, they are now more culturally enriched and have newly-formed friendships and memories that will last forever. For that we thank you.

The AUSA AAU Tour

This is not a holiday, it is a business trip. Players will be pushed in practice, expected to attend study hall to prepare for their school exams, and take care of their bodies, just like a Division I NCAA student-athlete.

Our goal is to give AUSA players the best platform to pursue a college basketball scholarship, and our coaches will be right there to support them through it all.

Boys tours

We take Boys AAU Tours each year in May and June/July.

  1. May Tour, ideal for players who graduated the year prior to the tour. The final opportunity to play AAU.
  2. July Senior Tour, ideal for Year 12 students in the year of the tour. The most important time to play AAU. If you can only attend one tour, this is it.
  3. July Junior Tour, ideal for Years 9, 10 and 11. Designed to give younger players a taste of what AAU is like (it's a different game). Helps younger players understand the level they need to be at, and lets them experience the US game before their senior year.

We select tour locations based on where we believe the best AAU tournaments will be that year.

Girls tours

Trip details:

  • June/July (Term 2 school holidays)
  • Location depends on tournament, typically the Dallas or Louisville area
  • Ideal for girls in Years 10, 11 and 12

These tours are held during the NCAA live recruiting periods, the specific time windows when college coaches and scouts are permitted to recruit new players.

Coaching and mentorship

When players sign up to come on our tour, they put themselves out there and say "I want to pursue this dream of playing college basketball." Playing college basketball is hard. Chasing your dreams is harder.

We make a concerted effort to ensure our players have the support they need to face those challenges. We provide:

  • A platform for college recruiting success
  • A support system for personal growth
  • Coaching that teaches the work ethic, accountability and consistency required to succeed

Expect to face physical, mental and emotional challenges on tour.

Key outcomes:

  • Understanding of the talent level in college basketball
  • Understanding of where you fit into the college basketball landscape
  • Experience with film evaluation and scouting reports
